Description
The Groesbeck Golf Championship returns to Lansing, MI for its centennial season on July 25–26, 2026. This 2-day, 36-hole stroke play tournament offers both Handicap and Open divisions, crowning both net and gross champions. It’s a premier event celebrating a century of golf at Lansing’s historic municipal course.

Format of Play:
- The tournament will be conducted under the Rules of Golf as approved by the United States Golf Association.
- Stroke play scoring will be used. The player completing the stipulated rounds in the fewest strokes is the winner.
- Players must hole out every putt (no gimmies).
- Players are responsible for knowing and following all applicable Rules of Golf and Local Rules.
- There will be a net and gross winner.
- Men 49 and younger will play the black tees, Men 50+ will play the blue tees and Men 65+ will play the white tees. Women 49 and younger will play the yellow tees and women 50+ will play the red tees.
- To be a net winner you must have a current, verifiable handicap.
- Tournament handicaps are required to be established before play begins.
- Golfing in foursomes.
Scoring:
- Players must keep an accurate score for their fellow competitors and verify hole-by-hole scores before signing the scorecard and entering scores after each hole in Squabbit for the live leaderboard.
- Signed scorecards must be returned to the scoring area immediately after the round.
- A player is responsible for the accuracy of their own scorecard and live leaderboard.
- Failure to return a signed scorecard may result in disqualification.
Pace of Play:
- Players are expected to always keep pace with the group ahead.
- A maximum of 40 seconds is recommended to play a stroke after it is a player’s turn.
- Ready golf is encouraged when it can be done safely.
Conduct and Sportsmanship:
- Players are expected to demonstrate integrity, respect, and proper golf etiquette always.
- Abusive language, club throwing, course damage, or unsportsmanlike conduct may result in penalties or disqualification.
- Repair ball marks, replace divots, and rake bunkers after use.
Tie-Breaking Procedure:
In the event of a tie for first place:
- A sudden-death playoff will begin immediately on holes 10 and 18. If there is no winner after playing hole 10, we will have another playoff on hole 18. Then you will play hole 10 and 18 until we have a winner.
