About Groesbeck Golf Course, Lansing’s municipal golf course
Our Story: A Lansing Legacy Since 1926
Groesbeck Golf Course is more than just a place to play—it’s a piece of Lansing history. Opened in 1926 with a ceremonial first tee shot by Governor Alex Groesbeck (and a festive balloon ascension!), the course was immediately hailed by the Lansing State Journal as the city’s “newest public playground.”
For nearly a century, Groesbeck has been a treasured gem known for its “scenic beauty” and natural layout. While we honor our roots, we’ve never stopped evolving. Major renovations in 1996 and 2016—including a beautiful new water feature on holes 6 and 7—have kept the course fresh and challenging. In 2018, we moved our main entrance to E. Cesar Chavez to improve safety and accessibility for our neighbors and guests.
Now managed by Legends Global, contracted services by the Lansing Entertainment and Public Facilities Authority (LEPFA), we are dedicated to blending tradition with innovation. Our mission is to bring golfers of all ages, skills, and backgrounds together on the green. Whether you’re a lifelong regular or picking up a club for the first time, you’ll find that Groesbeck remains Lansing’s best value for high-quality, scenic golf.
